Building Confident Communicators and Lifelong Readers

Nurturing Language and a Love for Reading

At Vallaba Schools, we foster a vibrant reading culture and strong language skills from an early age. With dedicated libraries, daily reading routines, and engaging programs, we empower students to become articulate, informed, and passionate learners—ready to lead and succeed in a global world.

We believe in the adage, “Today’s readers are tomorrow’s leaders”. Children are nudged to pick up reading from a young age and there is a lot of emphasis on independent reading and language development. Children from Grade III are allowed to borrow books of their choice from the library. It is not rare to see our teachers reading along with children under a tree. The first 30 minutes of every day is spent in framing & writing sentences for five new words. On a weekly basis, students write one essay and make one presentation.

We have three libraries at school

  1. English library (Books of all genres)
  2. Tamil library by the name of “Yaadhum” (With tamil books only)
  3. Competitive Exam Library (with books meant for competitive exam preparation for Grades IX to XII students)

On the whole, we stock about 18,000 books of different genres. The library plays an integral part in the teaching-learning process. It provides supporting material for learning in the classrooms and helps teach skills required by the students to become literate, informed and able to face the world.

International best-selling books such as Sapiens and How to make friends and Influence people have been re-compiled with sections that are absolutely essential to read. This helps encourage reading among beginning readers.

Parents are also encouraged to borrow books from the library through their children. Some of the magazines we subscribe are Champak, Champak Hindi, Highlights Champs, Highlights Genies, Tell Me Why, BBC Knowledge, Readers digest, Architecture+Design, Lonely Planet, National Geographic Kids, Forbes India, Education World, Parent Circle, Overdrive, Infinithoughts and Outlook Business. Though some of the magazines might be advanced for a child’s age we want our children to be exposed to a variety of topics. From Grades I to V, each classroom has mini-library with about 150 books.

Age & level-appropriate content from numerous publishers such as Orient Blackswan, Cambridge, Scholastic and curators such as Book Lovers Reading Program are part of our library.
The Karadi Path methodology is an innovative approach to language education, specifically focusing on English language acquisition. Karadi Path is designed to create an immersive language environment within classrooms. The methodology draws inspiration from the natural process through which children acquire their mother tongue or any other language from their surroundings.

Key features of the Karadi Path methodology are Immersive Learning Environment, Action path vocabulary, Oral-Aural Approach, Storytelling and Conversations and Cultural Context.

Karadi Path program is offered from PKG to Grade V students. Link – Karadi Path Website

Grades I to VIII use Hindi textbooks prepared in-house. These textbooks are hybrid of NCERT Hindi textbooks, Prachar Sabha & Karadi Path’s Action Path module translated for Hindi. Grade IX & X students use NCERT Hindi textbooks.

Vallaba offers three distinguished verticals for well-rounded excellence.
