Grade XI students take up a 1 or 2 day cycling trip during December last week.
The practice started during the academic year 2021-22, as our students were returning back to school after online classes imposed by COVID. About 25 students of Grade XI and 10 teachers pedaled from Madurai to Rameswaram over the course of two days after Christmas of 2021.
Ofcourse, we had warm-up sessions, followed all safety protocols, got support from Police department and District collectors on the way, meticulously planned breakfast / lunch / snack spots, etc., but the experience was overwhelmingly positive for both students and staff who took up the arduous journey.
Never before have they pushed themselves to such an extent and they returned with unforgettable memories of camaraderie.

When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world-try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. But life-that’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact. And that is everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it-you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.
.. You can poke a part of your life, and when you do, something new will pop out the other side. And whatever that new thing is, you can mold it in whatever way you like. Once you learn that you’ll never be the same again.
It’s absolutely essential for any child who’s growing up to punch above their weight atleast once. As Steve Jobs puts it, they will never be the same again!
