About Vallaba CBSE

Teaching & Learning

For Grades KG to V, we follow Chrysalis textbooks. Children in KG have Homeroom teaching except for language and physical education classes. The concept behind the Homeroom teaching is to enrich the student-teacher relationship, individual attention and maximize learning. For all KG classes, we follow two teacher system where each classroom has two teachers working together.

For Grades VI to XII, we follow NCERT textbooks. Each classroom would have between 25-34 students. Our teacher-student ratio is about 1:17 (1 teacher for every 17 students).

Assessmemts

Assessments play an important role in the curriculum as they help students to assess their learning and help teachers to understand their focus areas. We believe assessments to be a healthy part of learning.

Till Grade II, learning is assessed through informal/soft assessments in the classrooms by the respective teachers. From Grade III, the learning is assessed by a formal assessment system through the paper pen method. Students undertake three-term exams per year (September, December & March) each of which culminates with a Parent-Teacher meeting & a report card.

Apart from in-house assessments, students from Grade V to X take up online assessments with objective questions that purely test the application skills of students.

Occasionally, we have our students take up exams from Detailed Assessments for English, Science & Math and Open Door.
